And the Sunday

Posted on November 24, 2009 with 0 comments

After my Saturday evening adventures with going to Esklistuna for the recording (and of course going to bed very late), Sunday brought another kind of adventure, an Afternoon Tea concert.

Had to get up early, to do my hair (which I simply can't manage in this Scandinavian climat) and to give my voice enough time to wake up.

It was a very exciting event, because actually it was a premier: first performance together with a Romanian pianist Julien Matei and a Swedish singer-songwriter Ewa Wikström. We put together a nice little show that fit to the gorgeous place - just look at these scenes (oops, I still have to figure out how to paste pictures here directly)

Julien played his own compositions on the piano, I sang something acapella, Ewa sang her songs and accompanied herself on the piano, and we girls did Julien's short pieces, Ewa was the lead vocal and I backed her up with a lower voice (yeah, I would be an alto), and he of course played. The whole thing was 15-20 minutes and we did it twice, in both rooms.

I must tell you that to sing in the white room was something really fantastic! It has such a sound that it gave me the chills and I just felt like keep on singing forever...

Julien couldn't resist and sat back to the piano, outside of the program, and I also did one more song: a birthday greeting for our friend who turned ... years old the next day.

Hope very much that this was only my/our first concert there!

Thanks to the good friends who came, especially to the nice couple who organized this performance for us, and of course to the place at Stadsmission, the Grillska Huset!
